The Prayer of Blind Bartimaeus

Oh God, I cry out loud and shout to you.

I have borne the brunt of society's insults long enough.

Everything that could have gone wrong has gone wrong.

My tears seem to have no end.

Have mercy Oh Lord and show yourself strong for my enemies seem to have triumphed long enough.

Do not forsake your servant for I have no one but you.

Show yourself strong and glorify yourself.

Hear my cry for your own name's sake.

Amen

Reflections on the Stilling of the Storm (Mark 4:35-41)

Jesus in my boat!
Jesus, the winds of life assail me.
The storms are tossing me to and fro.
I cannot see my way through.
I almost feel like I will drown.
And you seem just not to care but to be asleep!
Yet, it was you who asked me to join you in the boat.
O Jesus, do you not care that I am about to perish?
Save me!
Then the Lord Jesus spoke to the storm.
He commanded the wind to be still.
And all was calm.
He rebuked me for my lack of faith; reminding me about the need to trust Him.
Peace, be still my soul and trust in the Lord.
Amen

Good Shepherd Sunday, 21/4/13 Jn 10:27-30, Acts 13:14.43-52, Ps 100, Rev 7:9.14-17

The Good Shepherd calls you; can you not hear Him?
He reaches for you; beloved sheep of His
Come to me! He calls. I long for you
Come, sheep, to the life I have called you to.
Hear my voice and obey it; you who are mine
I call you! To live eternity in everyday, powerfully, awaiting that final victory where we’ll be together forever
I call you! To proclaim my word daily; in word and deed; to proclaim my kingdom and righteousness
I call you! Hear my voice; rest in me
I call you! My sheep, who hear my voice
Still you soul; hear my voice
I call you!

Reflections on 1 Cor 5:1-8, Luke 6 :6-11

Bread of life, sent down from heaven
Manna, provider and sustainer
Jesus, our Passover,
Here we are , called to be unleavened bread before you,
Yet full of yeast, which defiles us
And makes our bread leavened-
Polluting us and our church.
Jesus, our Passover, by your sacrifice, you took away our yeast,
Cleanse us then, wash us anew
That we’ll be as unleavened as you,
A perfect sacrifice to the Almighty provider.
Cleanse us, cleanse us, we pray
